The goal of the fledgling Eastern Will County news is to cover issues and activities of interest to residents and business people in the area of Will County, Ill. politically classified as District 1.
The blogger/reporter/editor is a professional (i.e. doesn’t work for free) reporter who has lived in unincorporated Crete since 1974.
Our portion of Will County is bordered on the north by Cook County, on the south by Kankakee County and on the east by Indiana.
In 2011 District 1 was redistricted to consist of Crete, Monee, Peotone, Washington and Will townships.
- Crete Township encompasses all of Crete village, the southern half of Steger village and a small southern portion of the village of Sauk Village.
- Monee Township encompasses all of Monee village and most of the village of University Park.
- Peotone Township encompasses all of Petone village.
- Washington Township encompasses all of Beecher village.
