Rockford air mishap claims Monee Twp pilot

Thomas J. Plodzien of unincorporated Monee Township died Tuesday when his plane malfunctioned near Rockford. Plodzien, 77, managed air traffic at the gated upscale Meadow Creek Airpark northeast of the intersection of Harlem Avenue and Manhattan-Monee Road, where he reportedly was the first of 65-70 residents.
