The following information comes from a variety of sources, including Will County Sheriff’s Police reports released May 21, Will County Adult Detention Facility bookings and the Will County Circuit Clerk’s Office.

CRETE

Derrick R. Lowe

A 45-year-old Crete-area man was taken into custody May 15 on an outstanding warrant charging him with one count of burglary and two counts of theft. Derrick R. Lowe of the 3700 block of Shagbark Trail allegedly stole ground beef and other items from a store in Bolingbrook on Jan. 26. Bolingbrook police said he relinquished the ground beef to an employee after he left the store, but fled in a car with razors, computer software, a DVD and ground sirloin with a total retail value of more than $100. He is scheduled to return to court June 13 on the charge and is free on $50,000 cash bail.

Fork-Lift Business Burglarized
Twenty-five Toyota 4Y Engines, 18 machine forks, one diesel engine, 15 radiators, 15 starters, and 15 back rest/load back rests were reported stolen May 7 from a forklift company on the 100 block of East Burville Road. The thefts occurred after May 5 and, according to an employee, would have required several trips in and out of the property because of the weight of the items.

July Trial On Crete, Steger Estates Battery Charges
A 30-year-old Steger man who allegedly dodged Will County court appearances for separate battery cases was finally taken into custody May 17 on a warrant issued in October 2011. The resident of the 3600 block of Morgan Street is scheduled to appear at a July 20 jury trial on one charge alleging he beat a Steger Estates man and a Steger woman, and intentionally damaged property in unincorporated Will County in June 2009 and a second charge alleging battery, resisting a peace officer and intentionally damaging property in Crete in October 2010. He remained in the Will County Adult Detention Facility this (May 22) afternoon in lieu of $3,500 cash bail and on a hold by Cook County Sheriff’s Police.

Domestic Violence
Crete Police arrested a 60-year-old Crete man May 12 at his home on the 1500 block of Perry Street for domestic battery. He is scheduled to appear at a June 11 pretrial hearing in Will County court.

BEECHER
Fire Under Investigation
The Illinois State Fire Marshall’s Office is investigating a May 11 fire that caused extensive damage to an unoccupied home on the 1800 block of West Indiana Avenue.

Resident Cited In Crash
Sheriff’s Police cited a 43-year-old Beecher woman from the 600 block of Woodward Street for failure to yield at a stop sign and failure to reduce speed to avoid a collision May 8 after she allegedly crashed at the intersection of Eagle Lake Road and South Park Avenue.

PARK FOREST
Trailer Reported Stolen
A black 2011 Quality 14-foot trailer was reported taken May 10 from a residential driveway on the 2400 block of Old Western Avenue.

PEOTONE
Cops: Felon Had Gun
A 27-year-old Chicago man was scheduled to appear in Will County court this (May 22) on one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm and one count of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon in connection with an alleged May 21 offense in Peotone. Dlorne D. Young of the 5300 block of West Washington Street was being held without bond this morning in the Will County Adult Detention Facility.

Ruse Burglary
Cash jewelry, a revolver and a shotgun were reported taken May 10 from a home on the 10000 block of West Wilmington-Peotone Road. A 69-year-old resident told Will County Sheriff’s Police he was doing yard work when a male he didn’t know approached him about doing work in the area. The stranger lured the victim to the back for approximately 25 minutes, and then ended their conversation after receiving a cell phone call. He entered a blue van and left the area.

STEGER
Domestic Violence
Steger Police arrested a 25-year-old Steger man May 19 for domestic battery at his home on the 0-100 block of East 34th Street. He is scheduled to appear at a May 29 pretrial hearing in Will County court.

Steger Police booked a 22-year-old Steger man from the 0-100 block of East 31st Street May 13 for violating an order of protection at a home on the 100 block of Dorsetshire Drive. He is scheduled to appear at a May 21 pretrial hearing in Will County court.

Cops: Motorist Had Dope Equipment
Will County Sheriff’s Police booked an 18-year-old Steger male from the 200 block of Susan Lane into the Adult Detention Facility this (May 22) morning for possession of drug paraphernalia, driving on a suspended or revoked license and disregarding a stop sign during a traffic stop, according to booking information. Court hearing information was unavailable. ###
